Home Building Science Test Lab

Join Master Builder Matt Risinger as he takes you on a tour of a Building Science training facility in Phoenix, Arizona.

The training facility takes on 25 to 30 students at a time for classroom and guided discovery hands-on learning. A great challenge within the building industry has become understanding how things work (or how things work together) in the world of physics. As a result, builders are forced to guess. One example of a project back in the lab of the training facility is the permeability of product based on the moisture molecules from one side transferring to the other. Another is testing the adhesive qualities of tapes in the Arizona heat.

The training facility encourages builders to test the products and not use cost as the deciding factor when choosing materials for the build. Classes are available on zero energy buildings, HVAC, and building science and building technology.

Video sponsors include USG/Tremco, Polywall, Huber, Dorken Delta, PROSOCO, Marvin Windows, Rockwool & Endura. Thanks for helping to make these videos possible! These are all trusted companies that Matt has worked with for years and trusts their products in the homes he builds. Check out the video to learn more.
