Water Heater Tank Autopsy You won't believe what's inside!
Have you ever wondered what the inside of a water heater tank looks like after years of use? Matt Risinger cuts open four tanks and finds out, some as old as 17 years. Turns out there are mineral deposits that build up all over the inside of the gas tank, and on the electric tank there was so much scale that it looks like stacks of sand. You can't even spot the heating rods or electrodes. Oddly enough there is more scale built up on the top of the tank as well as the sides. The heat from the water heater caused the minerals to come out of the hard water and build up, but not so much on the bottom of the tank. This video will make you consider flushing your water tank regularly, watch to see just how crazy the buildup is on old tanks!
